About
Ashley B. Collins serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Media Specialist for the Neighborhood Christian Center of Alabama. A Memphis, TN native and graduate of Auburn University, Ashley has called Decatur, Alabama, home since 2003.
In 2012, she walked into the local jail expecting to lead a one-time Bible study—but God had other plans. She felt a call in her heart from the Lord and has never left. After thirteen years of service, Ashley continues to lead weekly Bible studies for incarcerated women at the Morgan County Jail, offering truth, hope, and the message of redemption through Jesus Christ.
Ashley is passionate about sharing “But God” moments, as exemplified in the Bible —those unexpected, grace-filled turning points where God steps in and transforms even the darkest circumstances. After teaching more than 90 class cycles, Ashley felt the Holy Spirit compelling her to write a devotional based on the stories of hope and transformation she has witnessed first-hand. In her upcoming book, she identifies scripture passages where God intervened and she then ties the scripture passage to powerful stories of transformation, redemption, and second chances from inside Alabama jails. These stories remind readers that no life is beyond the reach of God's grace.
Beyond her ministry work, Ashley is a wife and mom to two teenagers. She is a founding member of her church and enjoys mission trips, home renovation, designing space, cheering on her children in their activities, and rooting for the Auburn Tigers.
